A charming tourist town Fazana is just 2 km away and is known as the starting point for Brijuni National Park.
Štinjan is located on the southwestern end of Istria near Pula, on the hills and valleys above the northern coast of the Pula bay. In the Roman times it was known as “Astiniaum.” In Štinjan you can visit the parish church with the bell tower of St. Margarita, the monument of the Fascism victims, “Šaliž” street, Turulu hill, Cristo fortress on the Proština peninsula and the remains of the roman baths with mosaic floor and the remains of a large wool mill in the Žunac bay and Guc cape. This small and peaceful tourist town has developed 700m away from the central beach which is surrounded by pine trees so we would recommend it for a family vacation. Other than on the central beach, you can also go to the smaller nearby bays. In this small town you can enjoy the various beauty of the coast, bays, islands and peninsulas. During the summertime you can take part in various festivities, the most famous of which is the “Truffle Days” (a superb culinary festivity held over several days in all of Istria). The delicacies of this region and Istria in general can be tastes in restaurants “Šurida” and “Campo.” While in beautiful Štinjan, do not miss the opportunity to visit Pula and Rovinj.
